After completing this course the student should be able to: understand how information is organized by libraries; create an effective search profile and search strategy; use print and electronic sources to locate scientific information and evaluate and cite information found.
The course is intended for students at the Engineering Mathematics programme. The Information literacy course is a compulsory part of the course Mathematical modelling.
The course consists of an exercise at the library and a following part given via the Ping Pong teaching platform. The exercise at the library is mainly devoted to search techniques in different subject databases and how to write references.
