Use the search box to search the library's information resources. To limit your search to journals, articles etc., press Filter, select one of the options and enter your search terms.
Articles: Your search is limited to articles from journals. From your search results you can further drill down the results by using the facets in the left menu such as peer-review and online availability.
E-books and printed books: This option retrieves e-books and printed books only.
Printed books: Limits your results to printed books. From the search results you can filter your search to include books available at either one of our three libraries.
Journals: Use this option if you are looking for a specific journal. The majority of our journals are available online. You can narrow your search results by using the facets in the left menu.
If you prefer to search for journal titles in an alphabetically sorted list, please use the Journals A-Z.
Don’t know the complete journal title? See our guide on how to search with abbreviated titles.
Databases: Enter words from the database title or subject area. Use English terms. Please note that databases often cover large areas and the search terms therefore need to be broad, for example Physics.
In the Database search you may browse by name, subject areas or type of content.
CPL: Use this filter to locate dissertations or articles written by researchers at Chalmers. Your search will be forwarded to Chalmers Publication Library - CPL.
Studentarbeten.chalmers.se: Choose this filter to search for Chalmers student theses.

Please note that several electronic resources require identification also on campus.
Connect to Chalmers VPN
Start at Chalmers Library's website
The easiest way to access e-resources is via the library’s website. The system identifies you as a Chalmers user and the identify screen is displayed automatically when needed. You can also identify yourself here.
Please remember that the @Chalmers button will take you to the full text of an article when available. If the full-text is not available, you are welcome to request the article or book.
Select Chalmers University Library web address in Google Scholar’s settings. This way you will receive full-text links to resources held by the library when using Google Scholar.
Copy and paste or reload via proxy
If you locate an e-resource via a search engine or receive a full-text link some other way, you will not be recognized as a Chalmers user. You can copy the title and search for the title in the library’s search engine.
You can also reload the page via the library’s proxy server.
- Save the proxy bookmarklet as a favourite.
- Locate the article, e-book, or database you need, click on the bookmarklet.
- The page is reloaded and you can login and check if Chalmers has access to the full-text.

Not a student or staff at Chalmers?
Everyone is welcome to our libraries. We have computers which the public can use to search and read licensed e-resources for private study purposes. When you leave Chalmers you no longer have access to our e-resources off campus.
