The public computers in Chalmers library give access to the Internet, the library’s databases, e-books and e-journals, and to the MS Office package. Most of our computers are connected to StuDat, a system for Chalmers students and employees, a few are available for login with your library card (please see below).

In addition, there are also a number of computers available for searching in the library catalogue CHANS and the national catalogue LIBRIS. No login is needed for these computers.

The use of library computers may not conflict with Chalmers directions for information security.

It is prohibited to use the Chalmers IT resources to disseminate or store information improperly or to act as an intermediary with regard to information that:

• Runs counter to existing laws, e.g. through incitement to racial or ethnic hatred, child pornography offences, unlawful portrayal of violence, slander, disturbing the peace, unauthorised access to computer systems or unlawful use of computer information, as well as violating copyrights,
• May be construed as political, ideological or religious propaganda,
• Violates the law regarding the processing of personal data to protect individual integrity,
• May otherwise be interpreted as abusive or offensive,
• Is used for commercial purposes, including marketing products or services that have not been approved by Chalmers, or that
• Otherwise disrupts the computer systems of Chalmers. In using the Chalmers computer systems, employees should take into consideration the good name, standing and reputation of the Chalmers University of Technology. Most of the computers in the library are StuDat computers. Use your CID to log in.

Please note: you are not supposed to leave the computer unattended more than 30 minutes without logging off!

Some of the computers in the library are accessible for log in with your Swedish "personnummer" (as user name) and your library card number (as password). Log in time is limited to 30 minutes if there is a queue.

Note: Log off completely via the Start menu when leaving the computer!

Chalmers Main Library and Lindholmen Library provide wireless internet via Eduroam and Nomad for students and staff at Chalmers. Eduroam is also available for guests from universities that have Eduroam.
