Book Circle – "Queenie" by Candice Carty-Williams

"One Book One Chalmers" - OBOC - is a book club where all of Chalmers – students as well as employees – get the opportunity to read the same book. We now arrange some occasions where we gather and discuss this year's book and the questions it raises!

This year, the library, together with the Student Equality Committee (JÄMK), has chosen the book Queenie by Candy Carty-Williams. This acclaimed debut engages in the issues of sexism and racism in the UK through sharp language, plenty of humor and chargers in a spot-on way the very experience of living in the 21st century.

The book can be borrowed from our libraries, reserve a copy in our catalogue. It's also available as an e-book through the e-book platform VLeBooks, Chalmers ID (CID) is required for access.

Reading guide

As support, or for inspiration to get started with the discussions around the book, we have put together a reading guide (pdf) with questions for the book circles for Queenie.

NB. There is no requirement that you have finished reading the entire book or read to a special section to participate in our book circles, everyone is welcome to join us and talk about the book and the questions it raises.
