This year, Michael released the book “Tabletop Game Accessibility: Meeple Centred Design,” where he explores how game design can be made more accessible so that everyone can enjoy board games.
But Michael’s thoughts go beyond that. He discusses how design in general can increase accessibility for more people, allowing more people to participate in and enjoy the world in different ways.
Michael Heron is responsible for the Game Design and Technology program. For the past eight years, he has been exploring the fascinating and complex world of accessibility within board games – not so much as a research interest but as a full-blown research obsession.
