The library covers the costs or offers discounts for open access in a large number of journals.

Publishers which Chalmers has agreements with and the agreement conditions

Chalmers library has agreements with several publishers that give Chalmers researchers and students the possibility to publish Open Access free of charge or with a discount on the APC in their journals. These agreements are valid within a time period, and to be included in an agreement a paper has to be accepted for publishing within this time frame. Many of the agreements have a cap on the number of articles to be included in the agreement. Publishers identify potential discounts based on affiliation, but some may also use IP address or email domain to identify eligibility.  

To be included in any Open Access agreement through Chalmers University of Technology:

• the corresponding author of the paper must have Chalmers affiliation
  
• mention Chalmers affiliation correctly in the article
  
• you use your Chalmers email address when submitting a manuscript

Open publication free of charge in all journals, both subscription-based and pure OA journals.

American Institute of Physics (AIP)

Open publication free of charge in all subscription-based journals (except Journal of the Physical Society of Japan).

American Physical Society (APS)

Open publication free of charge in all subscription-based journals.

Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

Open publication free of charge in all journals.

Cambridge University Press

Open publication free of charge in about 400 journals, both subscription-based and pure OA journals.

Company of Biologists

Open publication free of charge in all journals. 

De Gruyter

Open publication free of charge in all journals.

Elsevier

Chalmers researchers can through the agreement with Elsevier publish Open Access free of charge in journals included in the Freedom Collection. Also included in the agreement are some titles from Cell Press and The Lancet. Read about it here.

Open publication free of charge in all journals.

Frontiers

The research funders Swedish Research Council, Forte, Formas, and Vinnova covers open publication in all journals from Frontiers. You can find more information here.

Institute of Physics (IOP)

Open publication free of charge in all journals (except journals from American Astronomical Society and a few journals in Russian and Chinese).

MJS

The research funders Swedish Research Council, Forte, Formas, and Vinnova covers open publication in all journals from MJS. You can find more information here.

Nature

Open publication free of charge in Nature and Nature Research Journals (subscription-based journals). The agreement covers "original articles" and not "review articles". Nature Protocols and titles within Nature Reviews are not covered.

Oxford University Press (OUP)

Open publication free of charge in all journals.

PLOS

The research funders Swedish Research Council, Forte, Formas, and Vinnova covers open publication in all journals from PLOS. You can find more information here.

Open publication free of charge in all subscription-based journals.

SAGE

Open publication free of charge in all journals from SAGE. 

SPIE

Chalmers researchers can publish OA for free in SPIE journals. Information about Open Access publishing at SPIE can be found here.

Springer Compact

No cost for OA publishing in subscription journals. The Springer Compact agreement covers more than 1,600 of their subscription-based journals.

Springer Nature Fully OA
