Use the correct affiliation

To ensure that all your publications can be linked to you and Chalmers, it is important that you enter the correct organization name when publishing.

Most publications from Chalmers are published with the correct affiliation, but unfortunately not all. In case you leave out Chalmers, misspell something, or use obscure abbreviations in the address, Scopus and Web of Science will not be able to identify you as a researcher at Chalmers, meaning that the publication will not be counted towards Chalmers (or your) publication output or imported to Chalmers research portal. You, your department and Chalmers also risk losing the publication towards all bibliometric calculation, of which some generate research funding, see Bibliometrics.

Use the full name of Chalmers in the address, i.e. Chalmers University of Technology, without abbreviations. Include both the department and university in the author’s affiliation address. For example:

Department of Electrical Engineering
Chalmers University of Technology
SE-412 96 Gothenburg, Sweden

Researchers at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, should affiliate themselves to Chalmers University of Technology if they are employed at Chalmers and to University of Gothenburg if they are employed at GU.

Exceptions

Researchers employed by the Department of Mathematical Sciences

All researchers at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, regardless employment at Chalmers or Gothenburg university should use the following affiliation:

Researchers at the Department of Mathematical Sciences who collaborate with FCC

Researchers employed by Chalmers and collaborating with or working part time at FCC should write both affiliations. If only FCC is used Chalmers will not be credited.

  • Always use the e-mail address provided to you by Chalmers, i.e. name@chalmers.se. 
  • If any part of the research presented in the publication was done at Chalmers, and you have previously had a CID from Chalmers, you should mention both your affiliation with Chalmers and that with your current organisation.
