20 November: Negin Hashmati – How Do AI Relationships Affect Young People’s Well-being?

Welcome to Library Live with Negin Hashmati and discussion partner Alexandra Weilenmann. Negin Hashmati is a PhD student in the Division of Interaction Design at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Her research focuses on virtual companions and their impact on young people’s mental health. Using methods such as design fiction, she explores the potential implications of these technologies for the future through speculative inquiry. Alexandra Weilenmann is Professor of Interaction Design at the University of Gothenburg. Their conversation will explore AI relationships and how they affect the well-being of young people.
